F. Burton Smith Regional Park

This expansive 1,080-acre scenic regional park is a popular venue for large group picnics and community events. There are several pavilions within the park.  The Karberg Pavilion is large event pavilion with the option of a kitchen and a view of a small nature pond. The Otter and Sable Pavilions have grills and are located near the playground, restrooms, and lake. Additionally, there are two family picnic shelters surrounding the lake.

Park amenities invite group activities such as a game of volleyball or a round of disc golf. Fishing is welcomed at the lake and in the tributaries, although swimming is not permitted. Hardwood hammock, pastureland, prairie and wetland ecosystems inspire nature and wildlife enthusiasts to stroll through the 1-mile nature walk.

A rustic tent camping site is located on the south side of the lake.  Tent camping is available for non-profit organizations by reservation only. Campers must obtain permit in person at Central Area Operations Office. Check out time at 2:00 PM. Must be 18 or older to rent.
