Construction / Contract Management
Construction / Contract Management is responsible for all aspects of the County's transportation projects from the time of conception through construction.
Transportation projects would include road widening, intersection improvements, acceleration / deceleration lanes, and pedways. Specific duties of the section include:
- Soliciting for Engineering Proposals
- Consultant Selection
- Consultant Negotiation and Contract Execution
- Preliminary Engineering
- Final Engineering
- Title Searches
- Appraisals
- Bidding
- Construction
- Construction Inspection Services
- Bridge Inspection
Assistance in the above areas is also provided to other sections and County departments as requested. The section is also responsible for all budgets, procurement, contracts, payment of invoices, plan reviews and approvals, legal descriptions and assisting land acquisition in purchasing/condemning needed properties. In addition, it is responsible for all continuing consultant contracts, including engineering, appraisal and geotechnical services. All work orders are issued from this section and are monitored through completion. These services are also provided for other departments wishing to utilize the contracts. Currently 13 people are employed in this area.
