Brevard County Parks and Recreation

Located on Florida's Space Coast, the mission of the Brevard County Parks and Recreation Department is to enhance the quality of life by providing many types and levels of service that reflect the interest and values of citizens and visitors.

Of the many parks and facilities available throughout the county, those that the Department manages include 106 parks, 3 campgrounds, 3 nature centers, 3 education centers, 15 community centers, 1 cultural center, 1 veterans center, 87 beach accesses, 10 school athletic sites, and 21 Environmentally Endangered Land sanctuaries and conservation areas. The Parks and Recreation Department's website offers residents and visitors a place to discover the unique features and recreational opportunities available throughout our parks.

Recreational opportunities on Florida's beautiful Space Coast range from nature preserves to state-of-the-art athletic facilities and active community centers. Features that inspire both active and quiet pursuits include wildlife sanctuaries, beaches, rivers, lakes, boat ramps, nature centers, trails, cultural sites, an aquatic center, playgrounds, event/picnic pavilions, and a variety of sports facilities.

Additionally, for those who love the outdoors, Brevard County's parks provide venues for community and regional activities including public golf at two beautiful golf courses; camping at three unique campgrounds; horse trails; fishing and boating--with access to the waterways by boat ramps at many parks; beach and lake swimming and various venues for water sports including sailing, windsurfing, surfing, rowing, catamaran, canoe, and kayak.

Facilities for other active sports include softball, tennis, volleyball, horseshoes, shuffleboard, and there are many soccer and Little League ball fields. Picnic pavilions and playgrounds are available at various parks for more passive enjoyment.

Announcements

Brevard County Parks and Recreation Central Area Operations is seeking a vendor to operate a mobile food concession at Lori Wilson Park, located at 1500 N. Atlantic Avenue, Cocoa Beach, FL 32931. The park is open to the public daily from dawn to dusk. Bidders may propose their preferred days and hours of operation, as well as whether or not they intend to vacate the park each night.

Scope of Services:

  • Concession service must be provided from a completely self-contained and fully licensed mobile food truck or trailer. Water, electric, and sewer connections are not available at the site.
  • Vendors are expected to maintain cleanliness in and around their concession area, including trash disposal.
  • All operational logistics (Days/hours of operation, setup, removal, presence overnight, etc.) should be clearly outlined in the bidder’s proposal.

Parrish Park and trailhead, located at 1 A. Max Brewer Memorial Pkwy, Titusville, will be closed starting Wednesday, March 6, 2024. Improvements for this project are ongoing. Signage is posted onsite.

Beginning Monday, January 6, 2025, Intracoastal Waterway Park will be temporarily closed to public traffic. The park closure is due to a natural gas main relocation project which is expected to last until the end of April. Sign boards have been placed at the park entrance to alert the public and will remain throughout the remainder of the project.

The Rotary Riverfront Park playground is temporarily closed beginning on March 17, 2025 due to the removal of the existing playground, and installation of a new one. Anticipated completion is May 1, 2025.

The western most ramp located at the Eau Gallie Boat Ramp is temporarily open to the public. The remaining boat ramps remain closed due to storm damage from hurricane Milton. A project to repair all three docks will soon commence and will cause intermittent closures of the ramps.
