Electrical Fire Safety Tips

  • Have electrical work done by a licensed electrician.
  • Plug major appliances directly into a wall outlet. Do not use extension cords for major appliances.
  • Avoid running electrical cords across doorways, under carpets, and through walls and ceilings.
  • Extension cords are only meant for temporary use. Do not use extension cords for long term use.
  • Do not use electrical equipment with, spliced, tampered, or damaged wiring
  • Keep electrical tools away from children.
  • Use child safety protectors for electrical outlets around children.
