Brevard County Parks and Recreation
Located on Florida's Space Coast, the mission of the Brevard County Parks and Recreation Department is to enhance the quality of life by providing many types and levels of service that reflect the interest and values of citizens and visitors.
Of the many parks and facilities available throughout the county, those that the Department manages include 114 parks, 3 campgrounds, 3 nature centers, 3 education centers, 78 beach access sites, 10 school athletic sites, and more than 16,500 managed acres of Environmentally Endangered Land sanctuaries and conservation areas. The Parks and Recreation Department's website offers residents and visitors a place to discover the unique features and recreational opportunities available throughout our parks.
Recreational opportunities on Florida's beautiful Space Coast range from nature preserves to state-of-the-art athletic facilities and active community centers. Features that inspire both active and quiet pursuits include wildlife sanctuaries, beaches, rivers, lakes, boat ramps, nature centers, trails, cultural sites, an aquatic center, playgrounds, event/picnic pavilions, and a variety of sports facilities.
Additionally, for those who love the outdoors, Brevard County's parks provide venues for community and regional activities including public golf at two beautiful golf courses; camping at three unique campgrounds; horse trails; fishing and boating--with access to the waterways by boat ramps at many parks; beach and lake swimming and various venues for water sports including sailing, windsurfing, surfing, rowing, catamaran, canoe, and kayak.
Facilities for other active sports include softball, tennis, volleyball, horseshoes, shuffleboard, and there are many soccer and Little League ball fields. Picnic pavilions and playgrounds are available at various parks for more passive enjoyment.
Announcements
Parrish Park and trailhead, located at 1 A. Max Brewer Memorial Pkwy, Titusville, will be closed starting Wednesday, March 6, 2024. Improvements for this project are ongoing. Signage is posted onsite.
The parking lot at Canova Beach Park will be temporarily closed to the public beginning Monday, December 2, 2024 due to the demolition of the existing restroom building. Following the demolition, portions of the parking lot will be closed to the public through January 30, 2025 while the new restroom building is constructed. Portable restrooms will be on site at Canova Beach Park for public use during the duration of the project.
Canova Beach Park is located at 3299 Highway A1A, Indian Harbour Beach, FL 32937. The nearest beach parking is at Irene H. Canova Park located at 2289 Highway A1A, Indian Harbour Beach, FL 32937, approximately one-quarter mile to the north.
Beginning Monday, January 6, 2025, Intracoastal Waterway Park will be temporarily closed to public traffic. The park closure is due to a natural gas main relocation project which is expected to last until Friday, January 31, 2025. Sign boards will be placed at the park entrance to alert the public on Monday, December 9, 2024, and remain throughout the remainder of the project. Concurrent to the project will be boardwalk repairs due to damage from Hurricane Milton.
