Brevard County’s Brevardians Responding as Volunteers (BRAVE) Program has volunteer and internship positions available. To apply, please download the BRAVE Volunteer Application. Once completed, please submit the application along with a copy of your ID card (School ID, State ID, or Driver License), an updated resume (recommended), and a cover letter (optional) to the BRAVE Volunteer Coordinator by email: BRAVE@BrevardFl.gov. Outreach Coordinator for Natural Resources- Seeking a recent A.S graduate or someone within 6 months of graduating to fill an Outreach Coordinator position. Applicant will assist the Brevard County Natural Resources department to fulfill specific Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) and National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) stormwater education requirements (Deliverables) at tabled events and talks to Home Owner Associations (HOA) and private organizations. Science background (biology, chemistry, earth science etc.) and education experience are a plus. Must be comfortable talking to the public. Public speaking is required. Some of the tabled events will be outdoors.
The days will vary.
Weekend and evening events are expected. We will schedule ahead of time.

  • Must pass a moderate level background check
  • Must have a current FL Driver’s license (students can have a valid license from any state but must convert to FL once graduated)
  • Will attend a driver safety course (paid by Brevard County)
  • This is an unpaid internship.
  • Commitment is 2 days per week, 16 hours per week

Janitorial Assistant with Valkaria Airport - COVID surface disinfecting, window cleaning etc. In need of one part-time person. Training will be provided. No special skills required.

Driver for Fleet services - This is an on-call position and probably will not fit in a program where set number of hours are required. Perfect for a retired person looking to occasionally have something different to do. Position entails being on call to pick up parts. They will go to Fleet Services on Wickham Ave to pick up County car and do runs for the staff in a county car. Valid driver license is required and successful completion of Driver Safety course (paid for by Brevard County).
