Public Notice - The Brevard County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) Is Accepting Applications for Vacant Positions for the Affordable Housing Council

The twelve-member Affordable Housing Council (AHC) was created to review policies & procedures, ordinances, and land development regulations that affect the production of affordable housing. The AHC makes recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) regarding funding and policies that encourage the facilitation of affordable housing development. All members are appointed for a two-year term.

  • A citizen who is actively engaged in the residential home building industry in connection with affordable housing.
  • A citizen who is actively engaged in the banking or mortgage banking industry in connection with affordable housing.
  • A citizen who is a representative of those areas of labor actively engaged in home building in connection with affordable housing.
  • A citizen who is actively engaged as an advocate for low-income persons in connection with affordable housing.
  • A citizen who is actively engaged as a not-for-profit provider of affordable housing.
  • A citizen who represents employers within the jurisdiction.

The AHC meets once each month, at 4:30 p.m. on the third Thursday at the Government Center in Viera. All members are appointed at by the BOCC.
