The CDC recommends the practice of healthy habits to help slow the spread of COVID-19. Healthy habits include:
- Wear a mask over your nose and mouth and secure it under your chin
- Practice social distancing by putting 6 feet space between yourself and others, remember some people without symptoms may be able to spread virus
- Avoid crowds, Being in crowds like in restaurants, bars, fitness centers, or movie theaters put you at higher risk for COVID-19.
- Avoid indoor spaces that do not offer fresh air from the outdoors as much as possible. If indoors, bring in fresh air by opening windows and doors, if possible.
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds especially after you have been in a public place, or after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.

Vaccine Operation Highlights
Department of Health-Brevard and the partners they are supporting have provided 29,543 vaccines since January 4, 2021
On January 29, the State of Florida rolled out a statewide COVID-19 Vaccine pre-registration system (phone & internet) for all Florida residents to utilize
As of Tuesday, February 9:
- Statewide pre-registrations: 1,132,501
- Brevard County phone pre-registrations: 41,701
New appointments will be released via the State’s pre-registration system going forward as new doses are received
As part of the Governor’s pilot program to partner with minority churches in underserved communities to distribute COVID-19 vaccine, Brevard has been fortunate to have three events at the below locations:
- Mt Moriah in Palm Bay
- St James AME in Titusville
- 5 Church Collaboration in the Cocoa/Rockledge area
The federal government has launched the first phase of the Federal Retail Pharmacy Program
- Under this program, the Federal Government will supply vaccines directly to select pharmacies across the country
- Approximately 2600 stores nationwide are in the first phase, with 1 million total doses allocated for the first phase so initial supply will be limited

The severe weather that has impacted large portions of the country has resulted in delays for new COVID-19 vaccine deliveries

- Drive through, no appointment required
- Monday Sunday, 9 AM to 5 PM
- 250 Community College Parkway. (Use the entrance from San Filippo Dr. SE & Jupiter Blvd.)
- Testing available for adults and children of all ages
- Rapid antigen tests with results in as soon as 15 minutes now available
- Insurance information will be requested but is not required to receive a test
- There will be no copay or any fee charged
- Identification is no longer required but does expedite the process

Brevard County Public Schools continue to offer meals for all children up to 18 years old at various food distribution sites through June 30, 2021.
Food distribution sites are open Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Brevard County Updates
Brevard County Government has a limited amount of funds to assist families who have lost a loved one due to Coronavirus.
The application for the program is available at the Community Action Agency (Dr. Joe Lee Smith Community Center, 415 Stone Street, Cocoa, FL 32922), or via Brevard County’s Housing and Human Services website
Eligibility requirements include:
- Cause of death on the death certificate must be directly or indirectly related to Coronavirus (COVID-19)
- Example of indirect –heart attack (main) exacerbated by coronavirus
- Brevard resident
- Household income must be below 150% of poverty ($39,300 for a family of 4)
The Emergency Rental Assistance Program provides financial assistance and housing stability services for those impacted by COVID-19
Eligibility requirements include:
- Applicant is a resident of Brevard County.
- Applicant is at or below 80% of Area Median Income.
- The applicant must sign all required documents or their application will be rejected/denied.
- Documentation of all income from the entire Household as reported on the Household Income Section of the application (include 2 months of bank statements, pay stubs, etc., or a 2020 tax return (IRS Form 1040)).
- All members of a household must be accounted for in the application.
- For applications filled out by hand, please make sure that the writing is clear and legible.

State and National Updates
All air passengers arriving to the US from a foreign country are required to get tested no more than 3 days before their flight departs and to present the negative result or documentation of having recovered from COVID-19 to the airline before boarding
The CDC issued an order requiring the wearing of face masks while on public transportation conveyances and at transportation hubs effective February 2, 2021
The CDC recommends that all people avoid travel on cruise ship, including river cruises, worldwide. Passengers who decide to
go on a cruise should get tested 3-5 days after your trip AND stay home for 7 days after travel, including those with negative test results
