Opioid Epidemic Community Town Halls

BREVARD COUNTY, FL. – In an effort to address the ongoing threat posed by opioids such as heroin and fentanyl, the Brevard County Housing and Human Services department invites residents to come to a town hall to share your thoughts and experiences.

Opioid overdoses and deaths have hit Brevard hard in recent years and are still affecting communities throughout our county. Whether you’ve struggled personally, know an individual
or family who’s been affected by opioid use, or are concerned about the impacts of opioids and drugs in your community, your experiences and opinions will help us find ways to effectively combat the many and tragic impacts of these powerful drugs.

Town Hall Dates and Locations:
• December 3 from 6-8 PM McLarty Park (790 Barton Blvd. Rockledge, FL 32955)
• December 11 from 6-8 PM at Melbourne Library (540 Fee Ave. Melbourne, FL, 32901)

If you are unable to attend one of the upcoming town halls, please take the 11-question Opioid Epidemic Awareness Survey available until Dec. 13. Survey results will help the County and our partners develop comprehensive opioid misuse prevention and response plans aimed at supporting healthier communities.
