BREVARD COUNTY, FL. -- As we continue to respond to Hurricane Milton and with the north portion of Brevard forecasted to receive an additional 4-6 inches of rain, out of an abundance of caution, Brevard County has activated an additional shelter from our standby list. This location is open for general population and families wishing to bring pets.
The following shelters opened Wednesday morning and remain open and are available for general population and families wishing to bring their pets.
Residents going to shelters will need to take their own supplies, including bedding, folding chairs, or sleeping bags; any needed medications; multiple changes of clothing and and sturdy shoes; personal hygiene items; and entertainment items, like games, cards, books or magazines.
